November 2017 GRETA Working Group Workshop: First Announcement
GRETA Working Group Workshop - Focus on Electronics, Auxiliary Detectors and Facility Interfaces
November 30 - December 1, 2017
Argonne National Laboratory, Bldg. 203 R150
First Announcement:
Dear Colleagues,
We would like to invite you all to attend a joint meeting of the GRETA Electronics, Auxiliary Detectors and Facility Interfaces working groups, to be held November 30-December 1 (Thursday/Friday) at Argonne National Laboratory. The goals of the workshop will be to:
(a) establish a clear and comprehensive view of the existing and planned auxiliary detector systems for GRETA;
(b) identify auxiliary detector needs which are not yet met, and establish the path towards a white paper for GRETA auxiliary detector systems;
(c) continue discussion of the geometrical (mechanical) and space constraints of GRETA with respect to auxiliary detectors and facility spectrometers/beam lines;
(d) begin the process of refining GRETA electronics system requirements, with a focus on energy range (preamp + ADC) needs in terms of recorded energy spectra, incident gamma rate, and total incident energy of gammas and charged particles in foreseen experimental conditions, as well as trigger + timing needs to interface with auxiliary detectors and facilities.
The workshop will be structured with open discussions of needs, capabilities and requirements, and minimal organized presentations. A detailed schedule will be available shortly.
Thank you, and we hope to see you in Argonne!
